Samaritan’s Purse provides for a widow and her children

When I was only 15 years old, I got pregnant. My father sent me to live as the wife of the man who impregnated me. After I moved, my husband decided we should move to a different village so he could work as a gold miner. There, God blessed us with five more children.
Around 2001, there was war between the Ugandans and militiamen in that area, and we had to hide in the forest. The rebels killed my husband while my children and I were forced to watch.
That’s when we decided to flee to Gety, which is where we live now. Even though we fled, we still face repeated fighting between the army and another rebel group. My children and I have already lost so much—goats, sheep, household items, and clothes—but worst of all has been the loss of my husband and other family members. That’s what has left us traumatized.

We want to thank Samaritan’s Purse for supporting us and intervening in our lives. We have benefitted from the agriculture program; they taught us how to cultivate the fields and harvest in abundance with new techniques. They gave us several tools that we still use, and they gave us necessities and food.
We were surprised by the intervention of the leaders of our church who saw the condition of the house in which we lived and helped us buy a new one in better condition. It was because they had attended a conference organized by Samaritan’s Purse and learned the importance of caring for the community.
We glorify God for everything He is doing through Samaritan’s Purse. Our wish is that they continue to support vulnerable people everywhere and that those people also will glorify the name of God.
