One afternoon, one of our staff members mentioned that her 17-month-old granddaughter had been sick for quite a few days. They had taken her to the doctor, but he said there was nothing he could do for the child.
Later that evening, the grandmother called to say the child had a high fever and wasn’t doing well. One of our drivers took me to her house, and I found the child lying almost unresponsive in her mother’s arms. The mother said the child hadn’t had anything to eat or drink for most of the day, and she seemed unsure of what to do for her baby.
I took the child in my arms and started singing “Amazing Grace” to her softly. Her mother asked me to pray for her. I called my husband on the phone, and together we began to pray for the child in the name of Jesus. I then left the house to get some juice and water for the little girl.
When I returned a few minutes later, I was astounded to see the little girl sitting up, sucking on her pacifier and giggling! Her fever was gone. Our driver and this family are all Muslim. They immediately began rejoicing, saying “Jesus healed this baby!” Our driver began to cry and said, “I can’t believe this is the same child! This is how Jesus heals!”
